William Penn ready for NAIA World Series

The William Penn baseball team leaves for Lewiston, Idaho, on Wednesday for an appearance in the N-A-I-A World Series. The Statesmen punched their ticket on Saturday with a 3-2 win over Indiana Tech in the super regional. Penn coach Mike Laird says It’s a great thing after being so close before and not making it. He says it has been a hectic time putting travel plans together.Laird does not mind having to put in the extra work, though as he says it’s a lot better than having to put the uniforms away. The Statesman play Concordia of Oregon in Friday’s opening round.
