New coach ready for challenge of Davenport West

After head coaching stints at three other schools Mark Bigler will take over as the new boys’ coach at Davenport West, replacing long-time coach Dave Wessell who retired after 37-seasons and two state titles. He says the tradition that was established by Wessell was a big factor. He says it’s an honor to follow in that tradition. Bigler previously served as head coach at Burlington, Fort Madison and Denver where he won a state title in the mid-80s.Bigler says the Falcon program has a lot of potential as the thrid biggest high school in the state.
