Summer has finally arrived in Iowa.Today is the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. What that means practically speaking is we, in the northern hemisphere, are tilted as directly toward the sun as we will be for another year which will result in more than 15-and-a-half hours of sunlight. But what it doesn’t mean is the hottest temperatures of the year. That’s because, just like an oven, the atmosphere takes a while to heat up.
