A state OSHA investigation is underway into a work-related accident that killed a man at the MidAmerican Energy plant near Sioux City. The Woodbury County Sheriff’s office says 53-year-old Gene Boykin, of South Sioux City, Nebraska, died Sunday at the plant near Salix after being found that morning at the plant, suffering from serious injuries. Boykin worked for Safway Services of Omaha, which provides scaffold sales, rentals, labor services and design. Safway and MidAmerican have released no details of the accident. Boykin’s brother, George, is a Woodbury County supervisor.
