Authorities are continuing their search for a Mason City man who has been missing since last Friday. 32-year-old Willie Child was officially reported missing Monday afternoon after his parents had not heard from him over the weekend. Cerro Gordo County sheriff’s deputies Sunday afternoon responded to a report of a suspicious truck parked in King Fisher Hollow north of Mason City, which turned out to be owned by Child. No one was found around the area and attempts to contact him at home failed. The Iowa Search and Rescue team has been conducting a land & water search of the Winnebago River area from King Fisher Hollow down to the Lime Creek Nature Center since Monday without any results. Foul play is not suspected in the case, but anyone with information about Child’s disappearance is encouraged to contact the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s office at 641-421-3000.
