The second half of the Midwest League season opens on tonite (Thursday) and the Swing of the Quad Cities are hoping to start the second half race like they finished the first one. The Swing finished eight-and-a-half games back in the first half Western Division standings but did win seven of their final ten games. Swing manager Kevin Bole says the Midwest League provides a number of lessons and one of those is what it takes to succeed at the professional level.Bole says a majority of the roster will remain for the second half, although three players moved up to Fort Myers. Bole says as players move up the ranks teams can be much different in the second half. The Swing open the second half at Cedar Rapids tomorrow night.
