Explosion destroys rural Black Hawk County home

July 1, 2004 By admin

An explosion destroyed a home in rural Black Hawk County this morning. The explosion occurred midway between Cedar Falls and Hudson around eight A.M. today. Fire crews called to the scene say the two-story brick home along Iowa Highway 58 was completely leveled when they arrived. Officials say no one was home at the time of the blast, and no one was injured. The Cedar Falls fire marshall has been called to the scene. Officials have begun sifting through the debris in an attempt to pin-point the cause.
