UNI women to play basketball in Puerto Rico

July 1, 2004 By admin

The U-N-I women’s basketball team will travel to Puerto Rico next season. The Panthers will take part in the San Juan shootout as part of a non-conference schedule that will include four home games. UNI Coach Tony Dicecco says the tournament will allow the Panthers to play some extra games before the start of conference action. He says they’ll play three games in three days and that will help all the new players on the roster. The non-conference slate includes a December 11th game against Iowa State in the West Gym and a December fifth visit to Iowa. He says anytime you play them, you know they’ll be great games. The Panthers will play two exhibition games, including one against Upper Iowa on November 14th.
