Waterloo Bucks hitting homers early

July 2, 2004 By admin

Three Waterloo Bucks are tied for the early lead in home runs in the first half race in the Northwoods League. Jordan Karnofsky, T. Shelby and Phillip Hawk all have five round trippers. Karnofsky is a third baseman from the University of California. He says he hasn’t thought of himself as a home run hitter, he just tries to make contact and has hit some mistakes out. Shelby is a shortstop from the University of Kentucky and also does not consider himself a home run hitter. He says he’d rather hit line drives and see his average go up. Phillip Hawk is a first baseman from Louisiana-Lafayette and says the three players are treating it as a friendly rivalry.
