Dubuque teen drowns in Lake Delhi

A northeastern Iowa teen apparently drown last (Monday) night. The Delaware County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a missing person at about 8:30 P.M. 16-year-old Tony Murphy of Dubuque was last seen swimming in Lake Delhi near the dam. Friends of Murphy searched for about two hours before calling authorities. The Delhi Fire Department was called to the scene and recovered the body at about 10:10 P.M. in Lake Delhi. The drowning remains under investigation by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Department and the Iowa D-N-R.
