Diamond Dreams of Iowa City is hosting another high school baseball showcase on August 5th. Josh Berka is organizing the event. He says it’s an opportunity for varsity baseball players to show their wares to coaches from division one, two, three and NAIA. Berka says the players will run through a variety of drills. He says they’ll be timed in the 60-yard dash and will hit and throw and pitchers will be able to show off their stuff. This will be the second showcase, the first was May 22nd. That showcase soldout and choaches were pleased with the turnout and quality of the kids.Berka says the showcase will be at Solon High School and the deadline to sign up is July 29th.He says they welcome everyone to come, because they want kids to know they can play college baseball in the state without going to a division one school. He says there are some excellent baseball schools in the state in the other divisions. For more information, surf to ww.diamond-dreams.org. Or you can call 319-358-0707.
