Iowa First Lady Christie Vilsack is among the people who’ll speak at the upcoming Democratic Party convention — not her husband who was one of the frontrunners to be the Vice Presidential candidate. But, Governor Tom Vilsack says that’s okay.He says he’s proud that Christie was extended the offer to speak. He says he think’s it’s great and says, “she’s a terrific spokesperson for midwestern values that I think have to be a part of this discussion.” Vilsack says there’s not better person to speak about those values than his wife. Vilsack says he’ll also have a role in the convention.He says he’s had an opportunity to be involved in developing the platform and he’s proud of the work they did in Miami over the weekend to develop the platform. He says he thinks the delegates are going to be very pleased with the platform. The Democratic convention is the last week of July in Boston.
