Ogden basketball coach takes job at Central College

After two years as the boys basketball coach at Ogden Nic Nelson is leaving to become an assistant coach at Central College under head coach Mike Boschee. Nelson had also served as an assistant at Bondurant-Farrar as well as Sioux City West and wanted to get into the college game. He says he was looking for an opportunity he felt good about and this was it.The Central Lyon high school product was a baseball standout at Morningside and play two years in the minors. Nelson says baseball was his best sport as a player, but says he’s always loved basketball and knew early on he wanted to be a basketball coach. Nelson had a 39-10 record at Ogden in two years as head coach.
