State high school baseball tournament starts today

The state high school baseball tournament opens today in Marshalltown and Carroll. In Marshalltown it is the class 2A quarterfinals and second rated Interstate-35 takes on an East Marshall team making its first appearance since 1996. Coach Denny Allen was on that team. Allen says he told the kids not to worry about the game and to just enjoy the moment and have fun.Allen talks about Interstate-35. He says they’ve got some got pitching, a good catcher, and only lost two games. Allen says they’ll try and score runs when they can and try and “keep them down on their offensive side.”
