A sting operation in Ottumwa has lead to several drug-related arrests, and authorities say there may be more. Six Ottumwa residents employed at the Cargill Meat Solutions plant are under arrest, and some face deportation. The arrests were made in homes, not at the plant. In May, officers launched an investigation after getting complaints about the local drug trade. Undercover agents sold crack, marijuana and cocaine. The manager of the Cargill plant says Cargill has and will cooperate fully with the investigation. The six Cargill employees under arrest face a variety of serious drug charges, plus the I-N-S has filed documents which could lead to the deportation of four of the six who’re being held in the Wapello County Jail.
