Three man jailbreak in southeast Iowa

August 11, 2004 By admin

A manhunt is underway in southwest Iowa after a jailbreak in Red Oak. The Montgomery County Sheriff says three county jail inmates overpowered a jail officer, changed into street clothes and escaped about 1:30 this morning. Video shows the inmates leaving through the food service area and rushing into a residential area of Red Oak. They were all being held on drug charges. All had their hair cut above their ears and collars and were unarmed at the time of escape. They’re identified as: 29-year-old Danny Edie the Second, 30-year-old Kirk Hardman and 24-year-old Jason Bendt.
