Iowa is number three when it comes to the A-C-T. Iowa’s Governor says the latest A-C-T results show the “state’s responsibility to strengthen education never ends.” This year’s crop of Iowa high school grads who took the college entrance exam did better than students in every other state but Minnesota and Wisconsin. Governor Vilsack says that third place average score in states where a majority of students take the test isn’t good enough, though. Vilsack says “the rest of the country is catching up academically” with Iowa students and it’s time to make high school graduation standards tougher.
