Northwestern Red Raiders #8 in pre-season

August 19, 2004 By admin

A run of success on the football field at Northwestern College should continue this season as the Red Raiders enter the season eighth-ranked nationally in the pre-season NAIA poll. Northwestern coach Orv Otten says scoring should not be a problem. Nearly the entire offense returns from last year’s team that made it to the national playoffs. Most of the new faces this season will be on defense. Another tough Great Plains Conference race lies ahead. The University of Sioux Falls is second-rated nationally. Northwestern opens at home against Briar Cliff on September 4th.
