Drake hopes experienced team pays soccer dividends

August 23, 2004 By admin

The Drake men’s soccer team takes experience and momentum into the upcoming season. Bulldog coach Sean Holmes has 13 players with starting experience back from last years team that finished with a ten-six-and-three record and for the first time was ranked in the nation’s top 25. Holmes says finding a goalkeeper is the big unanswered question and he plans to have a starting goalkeeper chosen by the start of the regular season. He says they added a preseason game this year as a way to help find a goalkeeper. Drake has always played a demanding schedule and Holmes says this year is no different. He says it’s the toughest schedule they’ve ever had, but he says it’s the best home schedule. The Bulldogs play Graceland in their next exhibition tonight
