August 24, 2004 By admin

The former treasurer of an eastern Iowa P-T-O has pleaded guilty to second-degree theft in the embezzlement of thousands of dollars. Lisa Knight of Shellsburg was accused of mishandling 72-hundred dollars while working as the treasurer of the Shellsburg P-T-O between December 2000 and March of this year. The missing money came to light through inconsistencies in monthly reports given by Knight. Knight originally plead “not guilty” and was scheduled to stand trial. She now will be sentenced September 30th.
