President to return to the state on the heels of V-P visit

August 24, 2004 By admin

Vice President Dick Cheney and his wife were the headliners of a noon-time rally in Davenport today — and the President’s returning to the state next week. Bush is scheduled to stop in Iowa on Tuesday. Bush will be “barnstorming” the country with stops in eight key states over the weekend and early next week before he lands in New York City. Republicans are holding their national convention in the Big Apple and Bush is to get there Wednesday, the night be formally receives the G-O-P’s presidential nomination. The day before, on Tuesday, Bush’ll speak at the Farm Progress Show in Alleman. The Bush campaign is spending significant “face time” in Iowa this August. Bush himself will have visited Iowa three times by month’s end. The President appeared at a rally in Sioux City on August 14, and on August 4th he campaigned in Davenport on the same day and at the same time as his rival, John Kerry. First Lady Laura Bush campaigned here a couple of weeks ago and Vice President Cheney has now made two visits of his own to Iowa this August.
