A big question for the nationally ranked UNI volleyball team this year is who will be the team’s setter. The Panthers need to replace four-year starter Jill Arganbright, who left as UNI’s and the Missouri Valley Conference’s all-time assist leader. The two leading candidates for the Panthers are senior Erin Hirsch and freshman Kristen Belzung. Hirsch, a fifth year senior from Waterloo East, is back with the team after a one year absence. Belzung, who was redshirted last year, was an all-state performer at Ankeny. Belzung learned a lot watching and practicing with Arganbright last season. She says Arganbright was able to teach her a lot about the college game. The 21st ranked Panthers begin their season at the Clemson Invitational on September 3rd.
