Even if Clarion-Goldfield football throws for 500 yards passing in their homecoming contest versus Garner-Hayfield, it won’t be nearly as far as the ball will travel just to get to the game. The Cowboy and Cowgirl cross country teams are going to run the football in a relay from Garner to Clarion today in time for the game. Clarion-Goldfield cross country coach Troy Matthiadess thinks it’s a great way to get his kids some notice and get the cross country kids involved in homecoming too.Matthiadess says the team will take off this morning before school starts and will finish the relay at about 12:30. He says it’s about 33 to 35 miles and should take about four and a half hours. The cross country team has their next meet this Tuesday night at Eagle Grove
