In high school football action tonight district play begins for eight man teams. In district seven number-ten Lenox is at home against eighth-rated Lamoni. Lenox coach Allen Dukes says in a district that also includes third rated Adair-Casey there is no room for error, as he says if you stumble once then you’re done. He says they’re approaching the next five weeks as playoff games. This is the first season for eight man football at Lenox. He says they had an advantage in that he coached eight man football in Missouri. He says the biggest part was convincing the kids they could do it. Dukes says Lamoni’s defense is only giving up four and half points a game while his offense is scoring over fifty points a game, and he says something will have to give.
