The winning ticket in Saturday night’s Powerball drawing was sold in the western Iowa town of Carter Lake, which is geographically surrounded by the city of Omaha, Nebraska. Lottery spokeswoman Mary Neubauer says no one has come forward with the ticket yet, which is estimated to be worth 14-point-four million dollars. Neubauer says the ticket was sold at the Jump Start convenience store in Carter Lake.The store serves a mix of customers from both Iowa and Nebraska, though it’s located near Interstates 29 and 80 and could have been sold to someone from anywhere who was just passing through. Neubauer says it could be 360-some days before a winner comes forward. Winners have one year from the date of the drawing to claim the prize. She says it’s a smart idea -not- to come in right away because a jackpot of this size is a “life-changing” event. Neubauer recommends people to consult an attorney and a financial advisor first. This is only the fourth time in the 12-year history of Powerball that a winning ticket has been sold in Iowa. The winning numbers from Saturday night’s drawing are: 5, 20, 22, 36 and 42 with the Powerball of 11.
