Athletic events at a northeast Iowa high school are in limbo for the rest of this week due to a confirmed case of whooping cough. North Tama superintendent Tom McDermott has decided to cancel classes at the Traer school tomorrow so students and faculty can be treated by their doctors. McDermott expects some student-athletes will miss an event this afternoon, and district administrators are exploring the possibility of postponing tomorrow night’s football game. The Redhawks are scheduled to play WACO in the second game of a doubleheader at the UNI-DOME in Cedar Falls. McDermott says WACO is aware the game may not be played as scheduled. He says it’s a little ununsual because the game is in the dome.North Tama administrartos will meet Friday morning to make a decision on the game.
