After a slow start the UNI football team is starting to turn its season around. The Panthers rolled past Westerl Illinois this past weekend to move to 3-4 on the season. Terrance Freeney rushed for a season high 236-yards and two touchdowns to lead the Panthers. After a slow start to begin the season Freeney has been feeling good over the last three weeks. Freeney says the first couple of he was hurt and now he’s feeling better and getting into the mix of the running and passing game. He says if they keep playing like this, they’ll find themselves in the playoffs.The Panthers piled up 526-yards of total offense with 406 coming on the ground. Freeney was confident going in that the UNI offense could have that type of production. He says they’ve had great practices, and he says when you play fast in practice, you play fast in games, and that’s what’s happened.UNI is 2-2 in the Gateway Conference and will host Southwest Missouri State this weekend.
