The Drake Bulldogs can take a major step toward the Pioneer League championship this weekend with a visit to Dayton. With a victory the Bulldogs would win the North division title and earn a trip to Morehead State for the PFL title game. Drake coach Rob Ash says they can’t get there unless they win this one, so they have a playoff mentality about the game, making it an exciting week. Dayton has won eight PFL titles in the last 11-years. He says they always run the option and run the ball hard and are consistent. He says they are the leading team in the league when it comes to defense, so his team has its work cut out for it. Dayton’s defense is good at forcing mistakes and Ash says the Bulldogs need to avoid third and long situations, he says they also have to get to the red zone and cash in on those opportunities.Drake is 6-2.
