Red Oak pawn shop owner arrested

November 9, 2004 By admin

The owner of a Red Oak pawn shop was arrested Monday in Montgomery County. Villisca Police Chief Butch Rulla says 53-year old Iris Mc-Anly — owner of “Red Oak Pawn” — is a former federal firearms licensee who voluntarily surrendered her license earlier this month, following allegations of misconduct. Mc-Anly was taken into custody for transferring a handgun to a person without a permit to purchase as required by state law. The offense is an aggravated misdemeanor. McAnly was booked into the Montgomery County jail and later released on her own recognizance. Her arrest resulted from an investigation into the November 2nd shooting of 45-year old Kirk Black of Villisca. Black’s 36-year old wife, Laura, was arrested in connection with the shooting, and charged with assault with a firearm.
