A second person has died as the result of an accident that occurred last week in Western Iowa. Seventy-six year old Marvin Ohms of Walnut died Monday (yesterday) at an Omaha hospital. Ohms and a passenger in the pickup he was driving — 95-year old Jessie Chambers — were traveling on Highway 83 in Pottawattamie County at around 1:30 p.m. on November 1st when their vehicle went out of control and slid sideways into a house owned by Craig and Linda Woltman of Walnut. Linda Woltman was home at the time of the accident, but was not hurt. Ohms and Chambers suffered mutliple injuries and were flown to an Omaha hospital where Chambers died last Thursday. The cause of the accident — which resulted in 20-thousand dollars damage to the home — remains under investigation.
