Iowa goes into game without scouting report

The Iowa men’s basketball team plays the first of two exhibition games tonight by hosting Upper Iowa. Hawkeye coach Steve Alford is anxious to see how his team responds to game-like situations. He says they’re going in with no preparation or scouting report as he wants to see how his team handles the things that’re thrown at them.Alford says as opposed to many other teams that are available for exhibitions Upper Iowa run a system that forces the Hawks to react. He says he wants to see how they adjust mentally to the defense they’ll be playing against.
