Ida County builds veterans memorial

Construction is underway on this Veterans Day on a new all-veterans memorial to honor those from Ida County who served their country.The memorial is being built next to the edge of the Veterans Memorial Lake along HIghway 175 and 59 on the west edge of Ida Grove. The monument is expected to be completed and ready for dedication on Memorial Day next year. The project is a combined effort of all the American Legion Posts in Ida County. It will feature a concrete and granite base supporting a 15-foot black marble “V”. The base of the monument will feature bricks bearing the names of the Ida County veterans.
