CF meets Ankeny in state volleyball

The State high school volleyball tournament resumes this afternoon in Cedar Rapids with the semifinal round in 4A and 3A. In class 4A, Cedar Falls plays top ranked Ankeny and if it goes five games it won’t suprise Cedar Falls coach Renea Beneke. Her teams last three matches have gone the distance, including a first round victory over Marshalltown on Wednesday. She says she doesn’t know why they make it so tough on themselves.Beneke says her team is confident in close matches, and she says playing with that confidence is a big thing for them.
