The Iowa Hawkeyes will try to hang on to Floyd of Rosedale and stay in the Big Ten Title hunt with a visit to arch-rival Minnesota. The Hawks are 6-1 in the Big Ten and need a victory to set a showdown with unbeaten Wisconsin next week. Iowa’s defense has been dominant against the run but will be tested by the Gopher’s offensive line.Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says they’re very talented, very experienced and very good at what they do. After a 5-0 start the Gopher’s have dropped four of their last five but after three straight close, hard fought wins Ferentz expects noting different this week. He says he can’t remember a year when there have been so many different teams winning. Ferentz says this might be the most closley contested conference race in his six years. Minnesota has struggled on the road but they are unbeaten at home and Ferentz says youth has a lot to do with that. He says they don’t have a lot of seniors and that can be a problem on the road.
