Three people were arrested and one was sent to the hospital after police stopped a rolling meth lab in eastern Iowa. At about 1:30 a-m Sunday, Mount Vernon police pulled over a car for a lane-change violation. The officer smelled marijuana, and found the driver of the car, 26-year-old Jennifer Kelchner had a pipe to smoke drugs. Officers searched the car and found an active meth lab and drug paraphrenalia. Kelchner was charged driving while under the influence of drugs, posssession of precursors, possession of drug paraphrenalia and improper use of lanes. Passengers, 29-year-old Jaytree Kelchner and 26-year-old Shawn McNamara, were charged with possession of precursors for making meth, and McNamara was also charged with possession of drug paraphrenalia and had warrants from two other counties. Another passenger in the car, 24-year-old Tracey Shannahan was taken to a Cedar Rapids hospital for treatment of possible exposure to anhydrouse, a chemical used in making meth.
