Construction keeps Grinnell women on the road

The Grinnell College women’s basketball team opens the season on the road Friday night and they had better get used to it. The school’s new gym is not slated to open until January 21st so coach Andy Hamilton’s team will play its first 12-games away from home. He says one thing all the travel does is build team community.Hamilton is entering his third season as coach and the Pioneer women have made great strides in his first two after going 10-11 in the first year, and then went 16-8 last year had and their first winning season and playoff team since 1993. Grinnell travels to Illinois to play in the Elmhurst Tournament tomorrow night to play Eureka College.
