Newton-based appliance giant Maytag wants to further cut its workforce and is offering what spokeswoman Lynn Dragomier is calling a voluntary separation program to all salaried workers in its “One Company” organization. It includes salaried workers in appliances, floor care and the corporate organization. Dragomier says the driving force behind the voluntary separation program is the cost savings goals Maytag has established for 2005.Dragomier says the company is not looking for a specific number of employees to accept the program. She says employees will have several weeks to decide if they want to take part in the program. Dragomier says it’s only open to salaried workers. No union workers are eligible.
