Iowa law enforcement hit a jackpot this week. First a trooper stopped a speeding pickup on Tuesday and noticed a load of blue cellophane-wrapped packages in the bed covered in grease. There were 29 bundles and they were marijuana, estimated street value almost three-quarters of a million dollars. Then on Wednesday a trooper reports driving violations led him to pull over a Ford Expedition but the occupants gave what the report calls “misleading and conflicting information.” The trooper asked if he could search it, and found a false compartment holding 30 kilos of cocaine — estimated value, more than five and-a-half million. Both drivers are jailed in Pottawatomie County charged with possession with intent to deliver.
