A Crawford County farmer will face millions of dollars in fines and several years in prison when he’s sentenced on fraud charges in February. 45-year-old Donald Kluver of Schleswig pled guilty Monday to two counts of fraudulenty collecting nearly a quarter of a million dollars in farm program payments. He also pled guilty to one count of aiding and abetting bankruptcy fraud. Assistant U-S Attorney Martha Fagg says the charges stem from the 2000 crop season when Kluver was farming several thousand acres in Crawford and Sac Counties. Fagg says Kluver evaded farm program payment limitations by concealing the fact that he was also farming 45-hundred acres of soybeans South Dakota.
