The Buena Vista women’s basketball team opens a bid for a second straight Iowa Conference title when they open the league race at Cornell on Tuesday night. Coach Janet Berry lost All-American Amy Meggers and All-Conference performer Kelli Taylor off last year’s team that posted a school record for victories with a 27-3 mark. Despite that, B-V is the pre-season favorite and takes a 3-1 record into the conference opener. Berry says they are doing other things this season and have a whole new look. She says they’re athletic and have changed some things defensively and are shooting more threes.Berry expects a competetive conference race and feels Luther could be the suprise.
