More Iowa soldiers are being called up in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Forty-eight members of the Waterloo-based 445th Army Reserve transportation company are being mobilized for active duty. The soldiers are expected to leave Thursday for training in Fort Riley, Kansas before being deployed. The 445th is a medium truck company trained and equipped to haul a variety of cargo, including food and ammunition. More than 100 Army Reserve soldiers have mobilized with two other detachments of the 445th transportation company since July. A farewell ceremony for the soldiers will be held Wednesday at 1 P-M in Cedar Falls.
