Mason City police say they found -no- new evidence at the former home of an acquaintance of missing T.V. anchor Jodi Huisentruit, who vanished in 1995. Investigators checked the basement of southeastern Mason City home last week, but Lt. Ron Vande Weerd of the Mason City Police Department says their investigation hasn’t provided any new clues into Huisentruit’s disappearance. The house at one time was occupied by John Vansice, who is believed to have been one of the last people to have seen Huisentruit. Vande Weerd says police recently were told that an area of the basement had concrete that appeared to be of a different age than the rest, but investigators didn’t find anything else that they hadn’t found before on a previous look at the home. There were broadcast reports of the owner of the home saying police may return to the home to drill holes and let cadaver dogs sniff out the area, but Vande Weerd says there are no immediate plans to return.
