Simpson goes to 6-1 without "go to" player

December 17, 2004 By admin

The Simpson College women may not have a “go to” player right now but the Storm are still off to a 6-1 start heading into tonight’s game at home against Iowa Wesleyan. Depth has been the major factor as the Storm do not have a player averaging more than eight and a half point per game. Simpson coach Brian Niemuth says they average about 72 points a game and don’t have anybody who scores in double figures. He says their style of play mandates quality depth. He currently is using a 12-player rotation and says their philosophy is to try and wear people out. He says to do that you have to play a lot of people and get after the other team. He credits his team with sacraficing some of their playing time to play this style.
