With two big holidays in the next two weekends, airports will be brimming with bustling bodies. Travel agent Steve Glenn has a little advice for any Iowans who have to venture into an airport in the next few days. Pack a lot of patience and arrive at the airport early, likely two hours before your flight. Glenn says the security screening procedures are different at every airport but it’s wise to go into it expecting to have everything checked, right down to your footwear. Glenn says to make it easy for yourself and just wear slip-on shoes so you can more readily get through the X-ray area and onto the plane. He says people who are carrying gifts on the plane need to keep other security precautions in mind or they’ll end up having a mess in their bags. Don’t try to take presents that have been wrapped as security screeners will tear into them anyway.
