No break for small college basketball

December 27, 2004 By admin

It may be the holiday break for the student body, but college basketball players have returned to their campuses and many teams will take trips or take part in tournaments to get ready for upcoming conference play. It was not that long ago that small college teams would take as many as three weeks off during the holiday season, but no more. Simpson College coach Brian Niemuth takes his team to California for a pair of games this week. Tomorrow the Storm play California Lutheran and on Friday they play Clremont-Mudd Scripps. Simpson is 7-1. The Dordt College men are 8-2 and will play North Central University in the opening round of their own tournament on Wednesday.
