Game week is underway in Orlando as the Iowa Hawkeyes prepare for Saturdays matchup with LSU in the Capital One Bowl. Both teams have featured outstanding defenses in posting 9-2 regular season marks. Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says like the Hawkeyes, the Tiger defense begins with a dominating line. He says they also have very good players around them at lineback and at the corners.LSU averages 200-yards per game on the ground and Ferentz says Iowa’s run defense will be tested. He says they’re not the same as Minnesota, but a little like Minnesota in that they run the ball very well and are three deep at running back. Ferentz says they have big physical receivers and a talented quarterback too to round out a very good offense.
