The Des Moines International Airport put out word as a major winter storm arrived in central Iowa that some airline flights are being canceled by the snowy weather. Ice that slicked roads began two to four days earlier in parts of the region and high winds and colder temps are expected to follow the snow, which could total several inches. Airport spokesman Roy Criss says inbound Northwest Airlines Tuesday flights #3567, 3674, and 3426 are canceled, and will not be arriving in Des Moines. And, the airline’s already decided to cancel some outbound flights on Tuesday — NWA flights #3578, 3673, and 3488 are canceled for January 5.
