Drake hosts Creighton tonight in Missouri Valley Conference. The Bulldogs are 4-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play a BlueJay team that hopes to make another run at a Valley title. Drake coach Tom Davis says you play their tradtition when you face them, and he says they have a lot of players back. Davis says Creighton deserves a lot of credit for the national reputation the Valley has gained. Former Sioux City Heelan standout Nate Funk leads Creighton with 16-point-two-points per game. He says Funk defends, scores, rebounds and passes. Davis says he’s probably underrated in the league, but the coaches know what type of player they’re facing. Drake beat Creighton last year in Des Moines in overtime and Creighton coach Dana Altman expects another exciting game. He says Davis has done a great job of getting the Bulldogs to play hard. He says both teams like to press, so it will be a fun game to watch. Creighton is 1-1 in the Valley and 9-4 overall.
