Although it’s very early into the conference race, the UNI women’s basketball team has gotten off to a very positive start in the Missouri Valley. The Panthers are 2-0 in the league and are coming off a upset win over conference pre-season favorite Southwest Missouri State on Monday. The victory was the third straight for the Panthers following a slump where they lost five of seven games. UNI coach Tony DiCecco says the Panthers know who they need to play to be successful. The Panthers will try to go to 3-0 in the Valley this Saturday when they play at Bradley. The Panthers have struggled at the hilltop winning only twice in the last ten years. Senior Alex Cook would like to leave Peoria on a happy note.UNI is 8-5 overall.
