Cedar Rapids man rescued after jumping off bridge

January 12, 2005 By admin

A Cedar Rapids man is under observation after jumping off a bridge and being rescued. A motorist flagged down police around eight o’clock last night and told them he just saw a man jump off the First Avenue bridge into the Cedar River. Officers found a man clinging to a bridge support, waster deep in the middle of the river. Firefighters used an inflatable raft to rescue the man who was identified as 38-year-old Milo Bilek of Cedar Rapids. Bilek was taken to a local hospital for observation.
